Jardin des Arts - Albert Schweitzer

This garden dates back to 1968

Close to the Cité internationale des arts, which hosts artists in residence from all over the world, this garden was redeveloped and enlarged in 2020. It brings together three previously distinct areas: the Square Albert Schweitzer, the Jardin des Arts and the French garden of the Paris Administrative Court (= Hôtel de Beauvais) in its upper part.

The accessible lawns are adorned with flowers, shrubs and flowerbeds, creating restful spaces for strollers. The garden features wide, tree-lined paths for strolling and exploring, as well as a play area.

The garden pays homage to Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965), missionary doctor, philosopher, musician and musicologist, and Bach specialist. In 1913, he founded the hospital in Lambaréné, Gabon, and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952.

The garden is open until 5 p.m.
