There are several ways to visit the Marais

The district is a beautiful neighborhood located towards the center of Paris, on the right bank, but north of the Ile de la Cité and Ile Saint Louis.

So, before coming to visit the Marais district, you'll need to arrive in Paris by train, plane, car or carpool.

If you're coming from the Paris suburbs, you can take the RER or TER.

The best way is to ask for directions on Google Maps.

Once you're in Paris, here's how to get to the Marais.

Coming by metro

There are several metro stations within easy reach of the Marais district

Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis station

Exit at Saint Paul-Saint-Louis station (line 1 - La Défense - Château de Vincennes): from this metro station, you can take rue du Prévot to access the southern part of the Marais, or rue Pavée to access the northern part of the Marais.




Pont Marie station

Get off at the Pont Marie station (line 7): you'll be in the southern part of the Marais, and can visit the superb garden of the Hôtel de Sens or take rue de Fourcy, for example.

If you're north of the Marais district, you should see the Cirque d'Hiver.

Coming by bus
